Digital Radiology (X-Ray)

This new form of radiographic imaging eliminates the need for film and creates digital images that are viewed with a computer screen. This allows us to change the x-ray image (contrast, brightness, magnify, etc) to maximize the information available.  With the click of a mouse the images can be sent to a specialist for interpretation or referral if needed.  Digital radiology is used extensively in human medicine and now animals seen at River Road Animal Hospital will benefit from this leading edge technology.
